This was my third visit to Lau Wang Claypot. My first two visits were to the Plantation Plaza outlet when it first opened, and I only remembered that the food there was really good!
Yesterday (12/6/25) was my first time at the Bugis+ outlet. The seasonal three-cup chicken tasted quite good (chicken was tender; 7/10), but it would be better if it were less salty. The portion is good for 2-3 pax.
Sesame chicken tasted average as it was too salty and lacked sesame flavour. I was disappointed as not much ginger, onions, or spring onions were seen.
Spinach tasted good as it was not too salty.
Their homemade ngoh hiang tasted average at this outlet. Sambal belachan was too spicy for my liking.
Overall, the price is reasonable.

The portions were generally big, except for the Lala pot.
The 三杯鸡 (Three Cup Chicken) was generous in portion and acceptable in taste. They mentioned it was a popular dish, so we ordered it. It was okay, but not exceptional.
The lala pot soup had a strong Chinese wine taste. The lala (clams) had no bad smell or sand, but they were really small and thin-skinned; some only had shell and no meat.
The sambal lady's fingers were cooked in a very watery and mild stock. Fragrance was lacking, making it a bit soup-like.
Prices were not that expensive, but the air conditioning was weak. Even worse was the tightly spaced seating.
For two people, we had three very hot claypots, two drinks, and a tray for chopsticks and other items. We asked the waitress if we could have two tables joined up. She said we could fit four claypots on our table. The table beside us had three people sitting at a table for four. We had more orders and bags, but it was tough luck, as they seemed to count by head even when there was still space in the restaurant.
The tight seating really made me uncomfortable, especially when the claypots were piping hot. We left as soon as we finished our food.
With any small push or accident, a claypot could spill and burn someone. It seems the restaurant does not prioritize safety and prefers to maximize profit.
For adults, it could lead to a severe burn; for children, it would definitely result in serious injury.
It's not worthwhile dining in such a cramped environment. It felt like waiting for an accident to happen.
The person who checked us in asked if we wanted to leave our belongings at their counter. We couldn't see the shelves or tell if it was safe. We preferred to keep an eye on our own things, so we declined and held onto our belongings.

It's always my first choice when meeting friends. I finally got to eat 青龙菜 today! It's always sold out, though. I love the chicken; it's so tender, and the taste is on point. The portion is nice, and it's a cost-effective meal.

The claypots were very hot and tasty; however, I think the flavors weren't exactly the best they could've been. The service was quick, and the staff were nice. The seating is also quite packed, as a lot of people seem to congregate and eat here.
I'd still eat here, though. I definitely recommend bringing or buying a drink while eating, considering I almost couldn't finish my meal from the spiciness and numbness of the Super Mala Chicken.
