Senior Technician / Technician

Varel Singapore, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel is set to open in Q4 2025 / Q1 2026, and we’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Housekeeping Team Leader / Supervisor to join our pre-opening team.

We are on the lookout for a master of all trades - a behind-the-scenes hero who thrives on solving puzzles, fixing what’s broken, and keeping everything running like clockwork. About the Role

As our Senior Technician / Technician, you will lead the charge in maintaining the heartbeat of the hotel. From complex repairs to project coordination, you will ensure our spaces are safe, efficient, and beautifully functional - ready to welcome guests with comfort and confidence.

Key Responsibilities

• Complex Repairs & Troubleshooting: Resolve advanced issues across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems
• Preventive Maintenance: Oversee scheduled upkeep to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan
• Project Management: Support renovation and upgrade projects, liaising with vendors and ensuring timely delivery
• Safety & Compliance: Conduct inspections and enforce safety protocols in line with regulatory standards
• Inventory Management: Maintain organized stock of tools, parts, and supplies for efficient operations
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with all departments to address maintenance needs and support hotel functions

What We’re Looking For

• Educational Background: Diploma, Higher NITEC, NITEC in Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, or a related professional certification.
• Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience in hotel maintenance (preferably in a 4- or 5-star property) or a similar role within the hospitality industry. Pre-opening experience (a plus!)
• Coordination Skills: Proven ability to work collaboratively with contractors across various maintenance activities.
• Availability: Willingness to work shifts and respond to emergencies as required.
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems is an advantage.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent diagnostic skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
• Professionalism: Service-oriented mindset with clear and effective communication skills.
